Sun and Moon
“Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.” (Psalm 148:3, KJV)
Last night I watched as the sun disappeared in a blaze of brilliant reds and purples. The night before, I observed the Snow Moon peeking from behind a thin veil of clouds that made it appear mysteriously hazy. Both of these displays and their beauty inspired me to praise my God, which is only right and proper.
“Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.” (Psalm 148:5, KJV). The psalmist emphatically ascribes creation to God alone. And we should join him in his adoration and worship. “And God made the firmament…and called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.” (Genesis 1:7-8, KJV).
Let us, as we witness his mighty creation, stop to worship the one who is our Creator.
